Professor Amitava Chatterjee, M.Sc. (Cal), Ph.D. (IISc, Bangalore) was awarded Senior Fulbright Visiting Fellowship and was associated with Institute for Social research, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. During his stay at Michigan he visited many Academic Institutions and Universities in USA and during his return journey he visited several universities in UK. After completing his post-graduate course in Psychology from Calcutta University, Professor Chatterjee joined Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore on a Govt. of India scholarship and completed his Ph.D. degree. After that he joined Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur as a teacher and retired from service as a Professor of Humanities and Social Sciences. He was pioneer in introducing Human Resource Development Course at IIT.
