Nice gesture of one Business School

It is a nice experience to spend some time with the President, Director,Advisor, Mentor of Jyotirmay school of business. I was invited by the Director as an expert to select faculties across different levels. The institute has high vision to develop business capability among the students. In the process of interview, it comes to my mind that the Institute gives priority on different management methodology, techniques and tools besides depth in subject oriented knowledge. Candidate of economics, computer science, statistics perform better if they will be able to relate their knowledge with problems of management. For example, one knows about oracle or C++ or SAP, he must be confident in application of those programming in business solutions like ERP. I think that this is good approach, if the students are aware of methodology, he can innovate new techniques to solve business solutions. Another area is more important. This is knowledge about full process. For example, mere awareness of data wearhouse is not sufficient until you know data mining.

Lunch was finished with 'gharoa khabar'.
After completion of interview process, Professor Subir Choudhury, then Director of IIM.,Calcutta and IISWBM in front of Professor Ashish Roy, Professor Partha Sarathi Ganguli, and Professor Das appraised my contribution by giving one memento.

My first book inauguration

The book titled " Principles of Questionnaire Development with empirical studies (for students and researchers in Social sciences) " (ISBN:9788190992312) was inaugurated by Professor Manjula Mukerjee, The Director of the Indian Institute of Psychometry, Kolkata, in the Workshop on SPSS -SYNTAX held at the Institute dated 29th October, 2010. During her speech, she appreciated the examples cited in this book to understand different principles of questionnaire development. Ms. Rama Manna (standing at the left side)was the co-ordinator of the workshop. The researchers of different specialization (Clinical Psychology,Psychiatry,Education,Human development,Environmental science) of different universities and research institutes attended the workshop. I taught them different SPSS syntax. There is one chapter on SPSS Syntax in this book. Martin Seligman and Positive Psychology

Martin Seligman coined the term - Positive Psychology. It focuses on positive functioning of human being. He suggested self-help techniques: Dr Martin Seligman is the founder of Positive Psychology and explores the latest research in his new book Flourishing. One of his key areas of work has been the infusing of Positive Psychology training with the 1.1 milli on officers of the US army. Rather than focusing on adding additional funds to programs for injured soldiers, his response was to create a training system for the army where officers can become better, stronger and happier people.
