AWARENESS GENERATION

Both passive and active awareness programs are generated to spread the courses of

performing art therapy

A. Active: Awareness generation through paper presentation in seminar and organizing workshop.

Seminar: In a seminar titled "Autistic Behaviour analysis", presented at the Bethune college, dated. 11.11.2009, I have presented clips of different training to autistic children. There I focused on performing art therapy in changes of autistic behaviour.

Workshop: In one invited workshop titled "Performing Art Therapy in geriatric Care" at Paripurnata , 1912 Panchasayar Road, Kolkata Pin- 700094 dated 12th November,2009 from 11-30 to 14-30, 3 students of the performing art therapy performed and observed specific psychological conflict resolution through the performing art. One student sang Tagore’s song, other dance. Following them, very senior people started singing, dancing and sharing their latent ideas. Next, one student played flute and following the music, elder people drew whatever came to their mind and later on they shared their feelings. These also helped to uncover some unconscious conflicts among them. The songs, dances and flute music ware designed according to two theories namely -

o Application of Rabindrasangeet in psychotherapy

o Performing art therapy as a tool to elicit unconsciousness

B. Passive : Awareness through writing blog, in the message board of Yahoo, in the virtual social network
