My speech at the International Conference

6th October, 2012.

Respected Dr. P.S. Ganguli, the President of Jyotirmoy School Of Business, Distinguished delegates, I am thankful to you for   giving me privilege to chair the session and to share some of my ideas on E-Education system.

With the rapid change in technology, the LPG (liberalization, privatization and Globalization) policies and finally the FDI policies, India is at stake. At this point, organization of such International conference with the focal theme titled " “Education Management — An Evolving Profession” is very much relevant.

Under the present uncertainty in socio-economic condition, education can play pivotal role by changing it's structure from top-down to the down-top, teacher centric to student centric, unknown to known, lecture method to problem solving approach, and from knowledge oriented to application oriented questions in the examination.

Students are not passive but active learners. Through their own prowess and social networking system, they develop own rationalities to understand the subject. Social net working systems (twitter, facebook) are in virtual reality having no boundaries.

Days are gone when educational resources are designed according to local and national needs. Few years back, it is designed according to the international needs. This results major thrust on corporate finance, globalized human resources and globalized marketing etc. Now, we are passing through the FDI policies where in the system of education will be controlled by the needs of transnational system. So education is moving toward Psychoinformatics and Educational informatics approaches where in primary focuses are on computer application systems and networks that support research in and delivery of education. This will help in construction of educational mapping and integrating it with local resource needs. It will cover four stages - data mining, data retrieval, pattern recognition and discovery of knowledge. Informatics will help in changing course structure of management education.

Teacher must be careful of the problem of technology absorption among the students. Some of the common problems are shifting attention to unclassified and classified information, difficulty to illustrate due to brief messages in the message box, spelling mistakes due to overemphasis on electronic note book, writing difficulty in organization of ideas. Therefore, technology resilience is major concern in current situation.

Thank you again.
