Psychology of Durga Schema

Psychology of Durga Schema (Part 2) continuing
A schema is a cognitive framework or concept that helps organize and interpret information. Schemas can contribute to stereotypes and make it difficult to retain new information that does not conform to our established ideas about the world.
Schema conflict
Durga Schema is clearly depicted in 'Chandi katha'. From tomorrow, Durga Puja will be worshipped following vedic or Chandi schema. But in the pandel Ma Durga will be presented as per the schema of organizers. In Kolkata, organizers are starting experiments in schema for pulling more viewers. This causes conflict in the viewers but people will adapt it.
Conflict resolution
Some pandals follow connection schema and some disconnected schema. People like connection schema as Indians follow collectivism values. From children to seniors, no one wants to miss Bagbazar pandel, the most traditional image, no experiment. Here, Ma Durga is with her sons and daughters as if they are co residential, consensual, common goal, and common property. Figure indicates Woman empowerment as husband Shiva is at the behind as if latent force. Ma Durga and her family is manifested one. Manifested visual representation develops schema. Schema conflict is resolved watching images in Bagbazar, Shobhabazar, RKM temples.
Schema types
There are four types of schema - Role, Projective, person, and event. We want specific role to be performed by Ma Durga. These roles are written in 'Chandi' . Sometimes we project role of Ma durga on ourselves. This is projective schema. Children act as Durga and Mahishashur. Person schema is more individualistic. Many people leave Kolkata for individualistic schema. An event happening at a certain time and location. Durga Puja means Pandel hopping, traffic jam, eating out, beautification. They are all event schema.
Schema development
Piaget emphasized the importance of schemas in cognitive development and described how they were developed or acquired. A schema can be defined as a set of linked mental representations of the world, which we use both to understand and to respond to situations. Schemata also expand and change in time, due to acquisition of new information, but deeply installed schemata are inert and slow in changing. This could provide an explanation to why some people live with incorrect or inconsistent beliefs rather then changing them. When new information is retrieved, if possible, it will be assimilated into existing schema(ta) or related schema(ta) will be changed (accommodated) in order to integrate the new information. Looking at Bagbazar Pratima we find connection schematic. But we are forced to accept disconnected schema through accommodated principles.
Durga Schema
Trust : Durga is formed with some adaptive or positive schema. In Chandi, we find that once Gods and Goddesses feel abandonment. They are forced to leave the heaven. Ma Durga by killing Mahishashur relieved the Gods and Goddesses. Ma Durga developed trust schema on her.
Connection: Ma Durga has 10 hands for 10 functions to achieve common goal.
Young conceptualised 18 schema for schema therapy. They are grouped into five categories- Disconnection and rejection, impaired autonomy’s and performance, impaired limits, other ditrected ness, over vigilance and emotion. These five categories schema lead worshipping the God.
